| Introduction | Sharon McQueen is a proud double degree graduate from Nipissing University’s Bachelor of Arts in Geography of Regional Planning and International Development in 2007 and Schulich School of Education, Intermediate/Senior Division in 2008. After graduating, Sharon received one of three Fellowships in Advancement of Education. Since then, she has been a project manager for Clark Communications and a Strategic Planning Assistant in the Office of the President at Nipissing. Locally, Sharon was the first youth elected on the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2009. As an ambassador for youth in northern Ontario, Sharon was recently selected to be 1 of 100 youth from across Canada who attended the G8/G20 National Youth Caucus in Ottawa, ON. Internationally, Sharon completed a teaching placement in London, England, led a research trip to the U.N. Headquarters in New York City and with a university in Tampico, Mexico and attended the International Youth Leadership Conference in Prague, Czech. Republic. Her next adventure is travelling to study in Singapore as a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar for the 2010-2011 academic year. |
