| Introduction | I am a pop culture journalist, print refugee (think: Entertainment Weekly and the dearly departed Premiere) and L.A. native. I've lived in Hollywood's contamination zone for much of my life, ingesting near-toxic levels of celebrity, hype, vanity, media, wealth, hipsterism and the tyrannically narrow obsession with one brand of female beauty resembling cartoon aliens with big heads, wide-set eyes and stick-figure physiques. I'm not cynical, just fascinated, unable to look away and compelled to explore Hollywood's mysterioussadbeauty. Kind of like those gas rainbows that form on the oil-slicked pavement after a heavy rain. |
