| Introduction | We all have those moments in life where we're not really sure who we are, what we should be doing, what we are good at. However, I have always been able to say with certainty that I do have at least one particular talent. It's not a talent that will bring world peace nor a solution to the problems of climate change. It's never going to cure disease or help me work out the answers to the big questions in life (Why are there so many calories in chocolate? Why am I so hopelessly addicted to Neighbours? Why isn't life in your 20s more like Friends? etc.) However, it puts a smile on my face, and fills my house with stuff. It even has some (semi)altruistic uses (hey, I'm doing my bit for consumer confidence in a time when the credit crunch is threatening the livelihoods of our retailers!) It's Shopping. |
