Introduction | I work in Delaware as a Teacher of Students with Autism. I changed careers later in life, so I have been teaching now for five years. Before being an educator, I worked as a packaging engineer/project manager in the consumer products industry. I received my Bachelors degree from Michigan State University, and I have two Masters degrees from Wilmington University (one in Special Education and the other in Instruction: Teaching and Learning), I enjoy working with my middle school caseload of students on the autism spectrum. I have a self-contained classroom and I have students that are in the general education setting. My students range on the spectrum from being nonverbal and low-functioning to high function students taking honors classes. I love to garden, and I enjoy baking and cooking. I am a passionate fan of Michigan State football and basketball, and I have fond memories of being a student when Magic Johnson played. I am fascinated by the opportunities that educational technology provides for all students, but especially for the unique population with which I work! |
