About me

Introduction Erin Cloninger is a Duke University honors student pursuing a B.A. in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations and Latin American Affairs. Erin has studied under Dr. Jean Casimir, former Haitian ambassador to the United States, and served as the Foreign Aid and Haiti Intern for the International Rescue Committee in the summer of 2010. She is currently writing an undergraduate thesis on disaster-induced migration, and has been involved with projects concerning women’s rights in Haiti through the Duke Law School and Duke Haiti Lab. Erin also serves as an intern with the Institute for Socioeconomic and Public Policy (IRSP). IRSP is a nonprofit organization focused on scholarly research for public policy suggestions and analysis, with the ultimate goal of well-balanced, efficient, and effective policy implementation that benefits Haitian society in general, and the most vulnerable in particular.
