Introduction | Birding is an interesting way in which to spend my time. I am a relative novice, but like to think I am getting better. I make lots of stupid mistakes to remind me I am not. I like being outdoors, and making lists of things, hence this is the ideal hobby. A bit of rediscovery actually, wasted many (all) teenage years, when I had months between doing anything, not birding - to my eternal regret. Now I am back, hooked. Some call it growing up.
I enjoy: Birds, books about birds, moths, bins, photography, nice wine, tolerant wives, my children, double deckers, getting patch and garden ticks, seeing very rare birds just before they bugger off. I don't enjoy: June, injustices, Having very rare birds fly over my patch (or anywhere in fact) and not quite being good or confident enough to clinch them, wearing my hat birding anymore, getting mugged on my own sodding patch, hoodies, domestic drudgery. |
