Introduction Art spent most of his career with GE Corporate R&D. There, Art led GE’s effort to develop its first whole-body CT scanner; which became the basis for the growth of GE Medical Systems in the 70’s. This prototype is now in the Smithsonian Collection. Later, Art was the manager and built a world class Information Systems Laboratory, which developed key technologies in software engineering, and many applications. While at Schenectady, NY, Art also helped to start the local Chinese Community Center and was a director of the Albany and, later, the Seattle chapters of the Organization of Chinese-Americans. After he retired as a senior executive from GE, Art has been involved with startups in the Seattle area and was appointed by Gov. Locke to be a director of the Washington Technology Center. Art more recently was a visiting lecturer at M.I.T.; he was educated as an Electrical Engineer at M.I.T. (B.S., M.S., Ph.D.). He holds 9 patents and is a Fellow of the IEEE. Art was born in Boston, spent his childhood in China and grew up in New York City. He is married to former Carole Zung. They also have home in the Boston area: they have two children and four grandchildren.
