| Introduction | I was born in London and moved to Galway at the age of 11, I now live in Tullykyne. My love for Art was well established even at an early age. I continued to study art through secondary school and onto Third level at the RTC Galway (GMIT today). I then pursued a career in the Multinational sector for many years working in Training and People Management. My love for Art was reawakened when I undertook an Interior Design diploma course. I then decided to delve deeper into my creative side and found that my true passion lay in oil painting. I am influenced and inspired by my surroundings in the West of Ireland – and am fascinated by the contrast of light, colour, form and texture, all of which play a major role in my approach to painting. I paint using many styles and subjects, landscapes, portraits, absract and feels truly excited when the magic starts to happen, bringing my subjects and canvas to life. I always have my camera with me – I never know what will inspire my next painting.The teaching methods I use is a step by step approach, making working in oils so easy, I am a firm believer that there is an artist in everyone. |
