| Introduction | I am a baby boomer, and sort of bemused by that. I've worked as a hairdresser, a flight attendant, a high tech sales person, and a technical writer. I was a single parent for many years. I SCUBA dived for 25 years in Southern California and quit when I moved to Washington state with its frigid, dark waters. I've always loved to drive on solo road trips but now find my body objects to so much sitting. I remarried 17 years ago, and now am becoming unmarried again. I recently moved back to California--to the desert, which I really, really hated as a kid. My Boomer bones are starting to like the idea, though. I'm writing a historical fiction book about my Mexican American great-grandfather, one of the Founding Fathers of Tempe, AZ. Maybe it will be easier to write when I'm actually in the desert myself, instead of the misty Pacific Northwest. I often don't feel like I've found exactly where I belong or what I should be doing, but I like to try new things (you don't know until you've tried, right?) I am fairly spiritual and always seeking connection--with a higher power and with my fellow travelers in this life. |
