About me

Introduction Seven years ago,I retired from a very busy family practice and joined Centre Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM) to work on a part-time basis at the clinic as a volunteer medical provider and medical director. CVIM offers free medical and dental care to our hard working neighbors in Centre County, PA that do not have insurance. These friends and neighbors are in a difficult situation because they make too much money to qualify for state or federal assistance, yet earn so little that they cannot afford even the most basic medical and dental services. On 3/20/09, I will depart on a 2,500 mile bicycle journey across the U.S. to raise money for CVIM. My trek across the U.S. will take over a month to complete. I will bicycle with Wandering Wheels (www.wanderingwheels.org), a group that I have rode with on three other occasions. The trip starts in San Diego and will finish in St. Simon’s Island, Georgia. Will you join me in the challenge of raising $8,000 to pay for medications for our uninsured neighbors? Your support will help CVIM provide quality care to our patients.
