| Introduction | I am a socially active, middle aged (ugh), white, American Muslim woman who enjoys learning as much as I can about the world. Mostly it's fascinating, sometimes it's heartbreaking. I think it should be mandatory for all U.S. citizens to travel for 1 year after high school, so more people can see that even in the poorest countries, and in countries the media loves for us to fear, people are good and kind and decent, and would give you whatever they have to make you feel welcome. |
