| Introduction | I have recently retired and decided to update this blog to show some of my retirement trips and stories. I originally started this blog when I was trying to re-learn how to ride long distances on a bicycle as my new hobby. I was impressed with a presentation I saw in the winter of 2014 and started riding my old road bike shortly afterward. I joined the local club and rode in a few 'charity' rides that summer and then continued training until I was able to ride in RAGBRAI in the summer of 2015!! And now I've ridden across FIVE states and 1/3 of California ! ! !!I'm originally from Textile Town, SC and graduated from Clemson in 1981 with a degree in Engineering. I have worked for a few utilities over the years and always enjoyed it.I am writing this so that I can share the processes I went through as I prepared for the RAGBRAI ride and beyond...PLEASE Feel Free to post on this blog if you read anything that you have questions about OR if you know of something that will help me in my Cycling AND Retirement Quests..Thanks ! !! |
