| Introduction | I am a devoted singer and listener of traditional music, particularly English and Scottish Gaelic songs, and love nothing better than to partake of Oxford's fantastic folk scene, which for me centres around the lethally addictive Half Moon, with its all-night sessions and unique place on (or, seemingly, outside) the space-time continuum. |
| Favorite music | I love all genres of music, but I think here I'll restrict myself to traditional artists: Capercaillie, Mairead Stuibhart, Roddy Campbell, Catriona NicPhee, Anne Martin, Anne Briggs, Spiers and Boden, Eliza Carthy, Martin Carthy, The Watersons, The Copper Family, Cara Dillon, Cliar, Mary Jane Lamond, Martyn Bennett, Maggie MacInnes, Kathleen MacInnes, Maggie MacInnes, Ishbel MacAskill, Griogair Labhruidh, Nic Jones, Nancy Kerr and James Fagan, Garmarna, Magpie Lane, Ray and Archie Fisher, Bob Fox, Dave Burland, June Tabor, Maddy Prior, Jeannie Robertson, Flora MacNeill, Alyth McCormack, Rachel Walker, Julie Fowlis, Lisa Knapp, Liadan, Bellowhead, Cyril Tawney, Tannas...and all those whom I have heard sing and/or play at the Port Mahon, Half Moon, and other sessions! |
