| Introduction | Albert Oszek was born in 1974 in Katowice, Poland. A graduate of post-degree studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, Faculty of Painting headed by Professor Andrzej Bednarczyk. In 2002 he got his master’s degree in graphic design at the Institute of Art of the Silesian University in Katowice, under the supervision of Professor Eugeniusz Delekta. In 1996, he completed the Post-Secondary Vocational School majoring in graphic design in Iserlohn, Germany. Albert Oszek is a representative of socially engaged art. In his paintings, he shows a man who is lost in the world of commerce and consumption. He draws artistic inspiration from the masks and figures of the Pacific region, and from the ideology of the anti-globalisation movement. |
