| Introduction | Four years ago I moved from southern NJ to the Gulf coast in southwest Florida. I live about two miles from the beach and I spend as much time there as I can, collecting seashells, and watching the shorebirds and other animal life in the Gulf waters and Sarasota Bay. I am often thrilled to see bottlenosed dolphins and manatees. This area is truly a paradise, and I thank God every day for the privilege of living here. I am surrounded by tropical foliage, flowering plants and trees, egrets in my backyard, and manatees mating in my lagoon each Spring. I'd like to share my adventures in birding, and pass along trivia and tips that I've learned along the way. |
