| Introduction | First and foremost, I'm a pilot, but my day job was in higher education, although I'm retired now. I'm a scientist, and I've had a pretty successful career. Politically, I'm a libertarian (note the small "l"). Others would call me conservative, but I don't fit the popular idea of a conservative, in that I place high value on morality but am not religious. I believe in personal responsibility, and think that big government is bad as well as inimical to the ideal of personal responsibility. However, I also think that NO government would also be bad. I've found a lot of like-minded people who have some conservative and some post-modern (as opposed to classical) liberal values. If that describes you, this blog is for you--unless you don't like to read about flying and airplanes. |
