| Introduction | My name is Lacey. I have been competitively team roping for over 15 years. Every horse I have ever ridden has been a ranch horse. My family never spent money on finished rope horses...if we wanted one, we had to put in the hard work to make one. Although I love team roping and it is absolutely my passion, it is a hobby. Sometimes life's challenges can get in the way of the things you really love to do. I have not competitively team roped now in over two years. Circumstances beyond my control have kept me out of the arena. But my promise to myself, call it a New Year's Resolution if you will, is to start competing and start winning again. I have already filled out my invitation and paid my fees to rope in the 2014 Reno Rodeo All-Girl. It is one of the biggest and most prestigious all-girl ropings in the US. I am starting completely fresh with a horse that has only been roped off of a handful of times. I have 6 months to have him and myself completely ready before I make the grueling haul halfway across the nation to test my fate! This blog will document my journey of training my horse to training myself and everything that comes with it! I hope you enjoy! |
