| Introduction | Tom and I met in 2004 at Starbucks, where he enabled my caffeine habit. 5 years later we got married. Almost immediately we began trying to start a family, and 5 months later we were pregnant! Our world was shattered when Dylan arrived a week early, barely alive. He was with us for 8 short days, but has touched so many lives, as a squid should. Our first rainbow baby, Lola, was born on May 31, 2012. She's a lucky girl because she has her brother as a guardian angel. 6 months after her birth we suffered a miscarriage at 10 weeks; a child we didn't even know about but very much wanted. Our fourth child and second rainbow, Noel, arrived on Black Friday- November 29, 2013. We found out we were pregnant with our fifth child shortly before Christmas in 2015. We lost baby Sprout after finding out his heart stopped beating during an ultrasound 4 weeks later, the same date we lost Shrimp. It has been a journey filled with lots of love and lots of heartache. Lola and Noel bring so much joy and laughter to our lives and have helped fill our hearts with hope and happiness again. |
