Introduction This blog is called "Ridiculous Ice Cream" in allusion to the frustrating, funny and unpredictable world that is micro-budget filmmaking (for an explanation of how I came to the specific phrase, see the very first post in the archive, Dec. 2007). As for content:_Seeing and Believing_ is an independent, feature-length narrative would-be film that was shot on mini-DV over the summer of 2002 for approximately $6,000 (see other boxes for plot info). Currently - somewhat perpetually - we are in post-production (sigh). This blog tracks the unfunded, circuitous progress of the film, as assessed and skewed by its writer/director/quasi-editor Rachel Ellis Adams. At this stage (early 2013), she is putting the final touches on the first full rough cut of the film (having devoted 2012 to slogging through the ridiculous process of cutting it, herself, though she is not "real" editor, but having become fed up with the recurring lack of such and horrified at the arrival of the 10th anniversary of the shoot). All readers are welcome & encouraged to comment on any post in any way (barring insults and mutiny). To contact Rachel directly, you may do so by e-mailing her: peculiarpix@gmail.com
