Introduction	I was born with a congenital heart defect, coractation of the aorta..and now, our baby is diagnosed with HLHS, hypoplastic left heart syndrome. It is unknown if I passed this down to him, or if it is just a random defect. But, our main goal is to get him better! By doing this, I will deliver baby Ross in Stanford, CA. I will be induced on March 4, 2008. He will have his first of three surgeries within a week of life. The first surgery is called the Norwood procedure. The second surgery is to take place around 4-5 months, called the Glenn procedure. The third and final surgery is done when he is about 2-5 years old, called the Fontan procedure. he will function with only half of a heart, the right side. This is one of the most severe heart defects to have, but we have so much hope for our baby, and he will be such a fighter, like I was.
