About me

Introduction Anna's passion for yoga and experience with its capacity to spur integration led her to become a yoga teacher in 2008. Anna's teaching is guided by a broad study of the yogic tradition, including her ongoing study of traditional and modern anatomy theories and biomechanics of movement, her own practice and (re)discovery of her body's potential, and the desire to decrease pain, increase function, and simply enjoy movement. Her classes are based upon applied anatomy and kinesiology and draw upon many different schools of yoga, structural integration, myofascial release and movement therapies. Students will discover how to engage optimally, work more effectively, and find greater physical ease in their practice - all with the aim of aligning with their unique muscular, skeletal and energetic blueprint. Anna's teaching style is precise and detailed with a few doses of dry humor thrown in for good measure. Anna's classes ask students to pay close attention to their alignment, position in space, and relation to gravity and to use the poses to serve them rather than serve the poses.
