Introduction | Middle-grade fiction is what I love to write. Someday (soon I hope!) I'll be a full-time children's book author - but until that day comes, I teach. Currently I'm enjoying teaching fourth grade. In the past I've taught K, 1st, and middle-grade writing and reading. In an earlier life I was an agricultural biologist; my title was "Pesticide Use Enforcement Officer", and I even had a badge that read BIOLOGIST across it instead of SHERIFF. If I'm not teaching or writing, you'll find me out on the trail on my beloved mule Tonya. I belong to the Society of Southwestern Authors (SSA), the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). (And yes, that is a REAL boa constrictor on my shoulder!) You can email me at: ktwrites@aol.com or visit me on facebook. |
Interests | My interests include: writing, reading, mules, bird-watching, animals of all kinds, and new methods of teaching. |
Favorite Movies | All of the Harry Potter movies! |
Favorite Books | Usually whatever I'm currently reading, but I'm a huge Harry Potter fan! |
