| Introduction | I started this blog to process my thoughts and to help anyone else who's child/loved one is grappling with an addiction. I was an enabler for many years, though I didn't realize it. Once I did, I had to go through my own recovery. I have read and heard that my enabling may have prolonged this situation. I pray to God that is not true, I struggle with guilt enough as it is. Through my reflecting and 20/20 hind sight, I was hoping to help someone, anyone recognize the symptoms of enabling and hopefully, end that process so that they can get a better grip on what is going on around them. It can be a very cloudy, entangled existance as an enabler. I am hoping to help clear thoughts and regain focus. |
