My blogs
| Introduction | Sometime (about 5 years) ago, I kept a blog on China till MSN spaces shut down, that even at the beginning was, according to one commenter: Immersing too fast...it'll drive you insane. Recently my mother said she was sending some cut outs from the New Zealand Herald to me here in Vancouver Canada:"It's on China and how one expat thinks the reporters write rubbish-just like you've said." Apparently I said that? THat guy was Brian Johnston. Right on. The guy was right, sounded a bit bitter. But I think ten years would do that to you. Plus he was in debate mode, trying to point out an obvious: free-trade with the mother ship may not be in our best interests. There was also another article enclosed by Phil Taylor where he said that on his tour of Sichuan, there was no graffiti and therefore, there was no graffiti in the whole of China. (The guy had a tour guide and couldn't read or speak Mandarin!) "Well," I thought, "he obviously hasn't been to my China." And that is how I got the title for this blog. |
