Introduction Meredith fought her colon cancer courageously, drawing deeply from her faith in Jesus Christ. Over 23 months, she underwent more than 45 rounds of chemo, several surgeries, & radiation treatments. She passed on April 22, 2008. During Mere’s battle with cancer, she expressed the desire to establish MMCCF. In a journal entry less than a month before her death, she wrote on Caringbridge: “I cannot wait to begin this foundation to hopefully save other young people from going through what my family & myself have gone through these past few years…” Mere encouraged us to see “little miracles” that transpired throughout her journey. She was blessed by the way family & friends came alongside her & her husband, providing financial resources & support. Meredith wanted others who walked the same journey to experience the same miracles that had sustained her. Though Mere never saw this dream become a reality, MMCCF is a living legacy of her desire to pay forward what she received from those who were so generous during her fight. Our mission is two-fold: to save lives by raising awareness of the symptoms of colon cancer & to provide financial assistance to young adults undergoing treatment.
