| Introduction | I've always really disliked filling in the interests section of any profile. I get stuck in the grubby position of either stuffing it full of falsified crap or I look like Jim originality - Captain of the S.S Boring. Summing up all my interests in four words turns into a brow crinkling, scowl inducing, stinker of an exercise. Lets be honest, it looks pretty underwhelming, so I think I'll flag the handy hyper-linked list in favour of rambling monologues. Did I mention that I'm a fastidious beard groomer? You heard it here first. |
| Interests | Reading, writing, gaming and football. |
| Favorite movies | Movies! Well first up, I'm a sucker for British humour, particularly the type that Guy Ritchie peddles, so I'd rate Lock Stock and Snatch right up there. Kingdom of Heaven and Sunshine both left a good impression on me and I'm a whore for pretty much any Batman related media so Nolan has me well and firmly stitched into the pocket of Bruce Wayne’s perfectly tailored suit. Liam Neeson is my favourite actor so predictably enough, I really enoyed Taken and The Grey. Warrior recently rocked my socks off and say what you will about Vin Diesel, his Riddick character is pure, distilled bad ass and frankly I can’t get enough of him. |
| Favorite music | Mostly of a hard rock-ish orientation. Sevendust, Deepfield, Non Point, Hoobastank, 10 Years, anything masterminded by Maynard Keenan and RATM. I like to study with orchestral music playing - cue The Elder Scrolls and Batman soundtracks and I've been experimenting with a few Dub Step playlists while I game. Its a work in progress. I'll let you know how it goes... |
| Favorite books | Anything by David Gemmell. I think the man was a storytelling wizard and he choreographed the sort of action scenes that Gareth Evans would be proud of. The Walrus and the Warwolf by Hugh Cook is the current king of my castle. The characters are lathered in charisma and the humour is crudely amazing. The Painted Man is great, so is The Sword of Shadows series by J. V. Jones and The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks. You're probably noticing a bit of a trend here. I thought Metro 2033 was a hidden gem and George RR Martin defaults into this list thanks to the sort of unparalleled creative and literary brilliance that I don't think he needs me to reiterate. What's that? Wipe the shit off the end of my nose? Fair call. |
