About me

Introduction Beth Camp attended eight high schools and as many colleges on the west coast of the U.S. She’s worked as an international banker, an English teacher at the community college level, and, now retired, writes fiction, short stories, and poetry. A love of writing, international travel, and history led her to write historical fiction. Standing Stones, award winner at Pacific Northwest Writers Association’s 2010 literary contest, introduces the McDonnell family threatened by eviction in 19th Century northern Scotland. Beth’s second book, Years of Stone, quarter-finalist in 2014’s Amazon’s Break-through Novel competition, follows Mac McDonnell as he’s transported to Van Diemen’s Land (present Tasmania, Australia). Rivers of Stone, set in the wilderness of 19th Century Canada, tells the story of Dougal and Catriona McDonnell. Beth lives in Spokane and is happily ready to travel at a moment’s notice with her husband (and netbook) to parts unknown.
