| Introduction | During 10+ years of professional tenure I have achieved successful outcomes for secondary, adult, and college student populations through teaching, counseling, and mentoring. Most recently, I’ve taught students the basics of science, technology, English language arts,and techniques for evaluating data, and methods for clear communication. While in this role, I have acquired an acute understanding of the need for students to be able to understand, evaluate, and organize information. Pedagogically, I am committed to fostering intellectual discovery, critical thinking, and life-long learning. My classroom employs a project-based approach to learning in order to promote the use of multiple skill sets, problem solving and group collaboration. Experience has taught me that my classroom must be a socially just environment that imparts physical, emotional and intellectual security. In addition to being an inspiring teacher, I have earned a positive reputation for being assertive, fair, and caring while preserving two rules of discipline: Respect and Responsibility. My classroom motto is simple; proper preparation prevents poor performance. |
