Introduction I’m a Mom who has a hard time living in the present. I look at my kids and see the past, the future. I too often miss those today moments. At night, long after they’ve gone to sleep and are sprawled across their beds, all arms and legs, I marvel and long wistfully for the days when their little heads fit in the palm of my hands. Watching them play in the sprinkler in the front lawn tears well up, knowing they’ll head off to college one day. The time we have with them is so fleeting and so precious. It’s horrifyingly cliché and profoundly my reality. What I love about being a photographer is that it forces me into the present. Every click, every little moment is so perfectly right now. I love to capture children and families, whose dynamics change so quickly, in their most present times. So that other Moms, Moms like me, can look back on those special photos with wonder at how much they’ve grown, how far they’ve come, how little time there is left. Documentation of all the love we pour into making them who they are.
