| Introduction | We are a first season, small scale farm, a 1/4 acre in size. We grow mostly heirloom plant varieties using organic methods. Our farm is located in Lyme, Connecticut on a historic property owned by the Florence Griswold Museum. The Fehrer House gets its name from Oscar Fehrer, impressionist artist and member of Florence Griswold's art colony which ran circa 1900-1930s. Daughter Catherine Fehrer, life long Lyme resident and environmental conservationist willed her land to the museum in 2001. We honor her environmental values with this project. |
| Interests | We are interested in growing nutritious and safe food without the use of chemical fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, or any other biocides... We take care to build up the soil with organic amendments and look forward to leaving the land in a balanced and enriched state. Our intent is to learn from the plants and re-discover lost agricultural traditions for ourselves and our community. |
