| Introduction | I love how even when you “fix” old things it’s the imperfections and distress marks that truly make them beautiful. I hate disposable things, things made to serve a limited function and then be discarded. I love, on the Simpson’s, when they run around with naked cartoon butts. I love people who sing between the beats like Tom and Willie. I aspire to a life resplendent in small pleasures: bathrobes, the smell of low tide, cut grass and dirt, whistling, the feel of water all around me, laughter, listening to music really loud, good storytelling and jokes, being naked and warm, Steinbeck, cheap beer and bacon. |
