About me

Introduction In 1986, when I was twenty-eight years old, an opportunity presented itself: a chance to walk across America. I couldn't resist the challenge, the adventure, and the chance to make a strong statement against the nuclear arms race. The Great Peace March was a unique chapter in the history of nuclear protest. A Strange Place Called Home is my memoir of the people, the events, the places, the whole amazing experience. My wish is to bring this little known gem of a demonstration to light and let it shine for others to see.
