| Introduction | For me, a strong interest in my Italian roots became a calling when, as a student returning home from Syracuse University, I decided to clean and organize my grandmother’s attic in Upstate New York. There I uncovered a treasure trove of old family photos, letters from Italy and other family heirlooms, some of which hadn’t been seen in over 50 years. I began researching his family tree – discovering my own history in the regions of Basilicata, Lazio and Molise. This research resulted in my first trip to Italy to meet long lost relatives and to walk in my ancestors’ footsteps. The experience changed my life, and shortly following the trip I decided to devote himself to preserving Italian culture by giving the same life-changing experience to other Italian-Americans. I achieved this dream when I founded italyMONDO! in 2006. Since then I have built and expanded italyMONDO!, blending my innovative ideas, passion and business savvy to turn what was just a dream into the premier Italian cultural heritage company in America. Now fluent in Italian, I live in Italy over nine months of the year overseeing italyMONDO!’s operations. |
