Introduction	My name is Rod McDonald and I am a freelance writer who has been published in The Ottawa Citizen, The Montreal Gazette, The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, The National Post, The Hamilton Spectator,The Glengarry News, The Catholic Register, Canadian Forum, The Fiddlehead and Quarry. I am a rural soul of Celtic origin (my father spoke Gaelic). The lady on the left in the photograph is my mother, the most spiritual person I have ever known. She is standing with her cousin Teresa and her husband Charlie Gibbons, in front of the house which was just up the street from ours. We lived in Alexandria, Glengarry County, Ontario. I now live in a condo in Toronto. I have three urban grandsons of whom I am most proud, and my wife who is my life partner. We are devoted to the New Evangelization.
