| Introduction | I am Carrie...wife, mother, and teacher! I am married to my high school sweetheart. Greg and I have been married for 5 years. On April 2, 2009, Greg was in a very bad car accident that left him with many injuries. Both legs were broken, there were multiple cuts on his face, and worst of all he sustained a brain injury that left him in a coma for several months. I was 24 weeks pregnant with our daughter and I had just been notified that I would be laid off from my job as a teacher. The Lord has given me the strength to keep moving. I'll never forget...about a week after the accident, when all we were hearing was bad news, I was literally frozen. I said, "I just can't figure out how to put one foot in front of the other." And I broke down. But, I didn't have to figure it out on my own, because the Lord was there to pull me through. Today, a little more than 2 years later, we have a BEAUTIFUL daughter, who will be two years old soon! Greg is doing well. He is still recovering, but he's alive! He's talking, moving, laughing and he WILL be 110% whole! This has not been an easy road, but I have learned so much! |
