Introduction	I am driven by challenges. They come in all flavors. I am the Host of ChemSpider, a free access website for chemists originally set up out of a basement and self-financed. The premise was that we would provide a benefit to the chemistry community using the right people, basic software technologies, some hard work and the right approach. It worked and 2.5 years later ChemSpider was bought by the Royal SOciety of Chemistry (www.chemspider.com). I'm a husband, father of twin boys, writer, blogger and hard working chemist. My life has been driven my one phrase since I was kid... "Beat the Challenge". There are many things I have achieved in my life that as a child I couldn't have imagined even showing up for me. I'm a very fortunate guy with a love for life, a passion for change and excited by my new challenge of running 1000 miles in a year!
