Introduction	I'm someone who has lived a life looking into the face of chronic illness for many years now. I first witnessed my father battle ALS 20 years ago and have been helping my son tame the illness known as diabetes for almost nine years. I also think I'm supposed to be learning something through all this, so I hope writing about it helps me figure that out! I was taught in college to "write what you know." I figure writing about living with chronic illness in my family is a good place to start
