About me

Introduction I graduated from Cornell University (magna cum laude) with a B.Sc. (Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering) and M.Eng. (Engineering Management). I then served out a 6-year scholarship bond with the Republic of Singapore Air Force. Due to my interest and successes in real estate, I undertook a M.Sc. (Real Estate) with the National University of Singapore to learn more about the asset class. "" At the end of my bond, I attempted a career change by undertaking a M.Sc. in Asset Management with the Singapore Management University. Upon graduation, jobs in Asset Management were hard to come by and I accepted a Business Development role with the American conglomerate, Koch Industries. I was responsible for Corporate Finance and business growth in Asia. After setting up the company’s Philippines operations, I was determined to build my career in Asset Management. With job offers scarce, I decided to manage my personal finances on a full-time basis.
Interests Investments are my Passion.

Since picking up my first investment-related book in 2002 while in college, I have always been fascinated with the world of investing. My journey evolved from losing tens of thousands speculating in “brand-name” equities, adopting technical analysis, to more fundamental research of companies.
And along the way, I was lucky enough to catch the property wave in Singapore from 2005 to 2011 through a number of properties and hit some equity home-runs. To improve as an investor, I enjoy studying the ideas and methods of renowned fund managers such as Greenblatt, Lynch, Whitman, Fisher and of course, Buffet. In spite of this, I have made plenty of mistakes; more than I truly care to remember. :S "" My passion in investments is driven by my comfort with numerical analysis, the intellectual stimulus from analysing investments, and the reinforcing feedback from my returns on investments. The added beauty of pursuing investments as a career is that I don’t have to worry about what to do at retirement; I can continue doing this till they cart me away.
