| Introduction | I am what many consider an unlikely New Jersey native and a recent graduate of Brandeis University. During the past five years I have worked guiding community service trips throughout Latin America. I first touched down in the Sacred Valley of Peru in the summer of 2008 and while the endless intrigue and adventure of the world continues to entice me, I have found myself transfixed and inspired by the people and the landscape of the ancient valley of the Vilcanota. It is the determination and perseverance that I have witnessed time and again in the communities of the highlands of Peru that has brought me to join in this collective effort to educate and empower. |
