Introduction I worked for many years as a Nursery Nurse specialising in literacy work in the Craigmillar area before returning to University to study for a BA in Community Education. I'm now back working in education but writing is still my biggest passion. It's what I've always wanted to do so we'll see where my paths leads me. I think words are what make the world go round! Being a mum is the most challenging job I have ever done but by far the most rewarding. I really enjoy writing about parenting and life is never dull with a young boy around to keep me on my toes. There's always something to chat about! Whether you find it interesting or not is up to you.
Interests I love people watching, animals, vegetarian cooking (when there's time!) chatting with friends, writing, gardening and spending quality time with my son. I also love good books, good coffee and good music (sometimes all at the same time) One of my big passions is baking, hence my other blog, Bake With Bree. I have recently been trying my hand at screenwriting and have attended a couple of amazing courses on this. I would love to one day adapt the Bree MCready series for the screen. I dislike people who drop litter or don't pick up their dog's poo. Grrr! Inconsiderate drivers make me MAD!
Favorite Movies Some Like It Hot, Frankie and Johnny, The Breakfast Club, Jaws, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Thelma and Louise, The Bridges of Maddison County, The Shawshank Redemption, Dazed and Confused, Leon, When Harry Met Sally, Barefoot in the Park...Too many to mention!!
Favorite Music I love music! There's nothing I don't like and I have a vast and varied collection.
Favorite Books Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger, anything by Irish writer Bernard MacLaverty. I like factual books and books that challenge my thinking. My favourite book as a child was The 101 Dalmations by Dodie Smith. I read this in one day when I was off school ill! Anything by Kate Morton, Marian Keyes, Fiona Gibson, Nick Spalding or Nick Hornby. Most recently I adored The Girl in the Red Coat by Kate Hamer, Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend by Matthew Green and The Night Rainbow by Claire King. I am a massive fan of Sylvia Plath.

You've been invited to a fancy ball but the only thing you have to wear is an orange wooly jumper. What shoes do you wear?

Definitely barefoot but my toenails would be painted orange!
