| Introduction | I suppose I just absorbed an interest in natural history through walks as a young child with my parents in the surrounding countryside of what was then rural Hertfordshire . Plants were named, bird-song identified, so it saved me a lot of the hard graft of identifying stuff. I’ve reached a tipping point at 80+ with more experience behind me than there is time ahead to gain more. Meanwhile to quote, was it Churchill?‘ I just keep buggering on’! Living in Cornwall for the past fifty years I have slowly become involved in the very active wildlife recording world, and feed records of my sightings to the comprehensive wildlife data base in the county. |
