| Introduction | I was once a devout follower of Christianity. I wasn't born-again or evangelical;I felt that all my energy to follow the "word" should be directed towards myself, that I should serve others, and I was not to judge others in their quest. Through a series of life experiences that happened over the course of several years, I found myself alone, abandoned, and near ruin; all of this happened as a direct result of my desire to abide by Christian teachings. It was only because of my finally being able to let go of my beliefs that I was able to rebuild my life. I now see how much better my life would have been without the brainwashing that I had been subjected to. I hope this blog will help others avoid much of the pain I experienced, and enable them to let go of the fear and guilt that serve as the foundation of all religious indoctrination. |
