Introduction | I'm a single, young(ish) mom, just trying to raise a good, environmentally responsible kid. Brief Background: I was born in the early 80's, the second of 4 kids raised by a single mom (affluence wasn't an option, even if it would've been in my nature). After graduation I had a short stint in the Air Force, moved around a couple states and then went back to school and got a degree in Applied Sciences. During that same time I got an internship with the National Park Service where I met my son's father (who is an Environmental Scientist who works closely with the EPA, DNR & PA Coal companies). About the child: My son will be 5 yrs old in August, and yes, I do understand that he's a bit young to expect stewardship from, however most mothers try to instill manners and values as early as possible. I am doing nothing more than guiding him into the notion that he should be respectful, kind and appreciative to ALL life, no just human life. |
Interests | Reading, writing, sleeping (pretty sure that's on every mom's list!), and anything outside (save for skiing--I suck at that) |
Favorite Movies | There are FAR too many to list, general parameters are: no chick flicks, action, suspense, some sci-fi, lots of comedy, and no horror. |
Favorite Music | Rock, Metal, Alternative, a lil bit of pop, R&B, and hip-hop. |
Favorite Books | Pertaining to this subject matter: 'Last Child in the Woods' by Richard Louv, 'A Wild Life' by Dick Pitman, and my pal Peter Allison's 'Whatever You Do Don't Run' and 'Don't Look Behind You.' |
