Do you believe that forks are evolved from spoons?
I do. Someone decided that it would be easier to have a utensil that could be poked into food when cutting it with a knife, which a spoon is certainly not good for. First off, the spoon's rounded, uh, spoon part was divided into two tines, & eventually became the fork as we see it today in its many incarnations.
