| Introduction | Family: I am happily married (most of the time) to Merlajean, my high school sweetheart. We have two children. Our oldest, Janna, is a high school English teacher in Chicago. Our youngest, Luke, is somewhere under the water in Maui giving dive lessons. MJ and I became new parents again (of a matter of sorts) when we adopted a 9-week old Golden Retriever, "Toast." Best Advice I’ve ever been given: “Listen to your wife!” (I received this advice early in my marriage… from my wife. Does that count?) Something most people don’t know about me is… that I survived a tornado that completely destroyed our home when I was in junior high school. After the tornado passed over us my family and I crawled up out of the basement with nothing but sky above us. Our house had been destroyed in less than 60 seconds! |
