Introduction | "Seasons in UT" is a blend of word and image. A former newspaper editor, steelworker, carpenter, syndicated columnist, assistant professor, NPR commentator, cab driver, roofer, lecturer, and ditch digger, O'Brien has earned more than 40 state, national, and international awards for writing, editing, and photography. He is never anywhere for long where he wouldn't rather be in the Upper Turkeyfoot he imagines. Ancient Chinese mountain poets published their poems by pinning them to trees. "Seasons," read in more than 80 countries, is a modern equivalent. |
