Introduction | Family raised over a decade ago. I have torn up the nest several times. The expectations still exist for ongoing assistance even without communication and information sharing. |
Interests | Reading books and magazines, all types of art and artists, outdoors - hiking and gardening, love crochet |
Favorite Movies | 2010 seems to be devoid of classy movies at the theater viewed by me so far; however, learning photoshop has helped me to appreciate any and all movie media. Along with Fantastic Mr. Fox last year, I plan to include some animated flicks in my repertoire. I would like to see someone of Vanessa Redgrave's ability (is there anyone?) in a sweeping drama. Perhaps, Meryl will become the next queen for us older gals. No more Paul Newman but I have enjoyed his movie, Pocket Money on the telly this week. This year 08-09 Brideshead Revisited - heavy, but well acted and cinematography excellent grand terino. helps us all rem 1st car. nov milk. caught it on cable. wid bgr8 in theater He's not that into you - just plain cute with Drew Barrymore Defiance - intense but a wonderful display of community and social mores Of all time: African Queen Michael Clayton, Ocean's Eleven and Bourne Identity 2009: Mad Money, Momma Mia, and oldie: The Lavender Ladies with wonderful music from Joshua Bell |
Favorite Music | Jazz, some hip hop and rap with poetry, Ray Charles, Duke Ellington, Johnny Cash, the writing of Kris Kristofferson, the magic of Dolly Parton and the wonder of Allison Krass |
Favorite Books | Not necessarily favorite, two interesting: Oates' On the Wings of a Bird and Amy Tan's The Opposite of Fate. While I was not transported into their worlds; I was thoughtfully examining my own world in relationship to their writing - perhaps; that is a good book. Next up: Vonnegut's posthumous book of essays - I think he laughed to know he was still writing and communicating after death. The Girl with a Pearl Earring was good - now, try her latest: i.e. Mary Anning's fossil hunting - true story and very interesting. To Kill a Mockingbird. The short stories of Mary Gordon. Edgerton's walking across egypt. anything Barbara Kingsolver or Amy Tan, Strange for me: Stephen King, Reading Series: Gail Godwin, etc. |
You're in the grocery store with a broken cart. How will you ever be that hungry?
A wet sock is easier for me as I have tried it. When using a banana as an airplane - it seems to have a boomerang effect!
