| Introduction | I strongly believe that parents are responsible for their children's education--not school systems, belief systems, or any other force external to the family. Public and private schools are tools for parents to use to provide a good education for their children. They aren't the ultimate source of all education, but they can be an important tool. Homeschooling can work wonders in providing that education as well. What we do is "afterschool" our son. We pick out homeschool techniques and implement them after regular day school to supplement our son's education and bring it up to the standard that we believe is important for our child. I have a website, www.afterschoolers.com , for parents to use to find the best ways to supplement their child's eduction, whether through tutoring, homeschool programs, programs to suggest for school use, or other extracurricular activities. Check there for my most recent ramblings, but I wanted to have a side site to "think" from time to time as well--that's why I'm here! |
What would you wear for camouflage if you were hiding in a gingerbread house?
Now that's the kind of question I want to include in journal prompts!!
