Introduction	Lani Tanaka is a painter who took an unplanned ten year break from the art world in order to stay away from solvents for awhile, read: she had a baby. Now that she is back into the realm of oil paints and solvents, she has found that things have changed out there in the art making world, although she thinks, perhaps, it is just her. Either way is fine. These are her thoughts and observations on the changes she sees around her.
