Introduction	Abbey Dick is a high school English teacher at Malden High School in Malden, Massachusetts. After teaching for ten years, she served as a Literacy Specialist for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She has taught grades 6-12, including an online high school English course and both AP Literature and AP Language. She attended Assumption College and Westfield State University, served on the 10th grade ELA MCAS Assessment Development Committee, and is an AP Language Reader. She presents at various conferences. Her interests include teaching non-fiction, vocabulary, grammar, and writing; curriculum units and mapping; professional development; college readiness; the Common Core; and assessment.
